Nine members of Maxwell Methodist Missions worked at the music teacher's home gutting and sanitizing the basement where the water level had been 6 feet high, but Denise and I were privileged to sit with Leslie Morgan and her friend as we carefully cleaned hundreds of music cd's. We came to realize the value of the collection because some recorded Leslie's own opera performances, as well as, other irreplaceable recordings. When that task was completed, Leslie hugged me and said, "I didn't expect you all to be so giving." We all shared lunch on her patio, after she brought out chairs and a shirt to warm me. Later that afternoon, it was time to leave. "Thank you," Leslie said as she hugged me goodbye. "Thank you!", I responded, and she pulled back to look at me. I had to explain that I am often the one more blessed in the helping of others. I felt very touched by her sweet spirit and I think the giving went both ways that June Saturday.
