Wanted: Reading Volunteers

ST. PAUL'S CHURCH AT 207 W. LOUISE ST to read with Ms. Peck's and Ms. Hill's class from Carver Academy. Each student will bring two books just alike--will hand one to the volunteer--you find a quiet corner, and listen to the student read, reading along in your copy--encourage, correct where needed, and just kind of coach them along--interact, see if they are understanding what they are reading, etc. The students will start reading at 9:40, and will be leaving by 10am--some have to be in their next class by 10:10.

MAPLES Christmas Caroling Party

What a great time we had! A group went to Manor Care, Ridgeway Towers, and Logan HyVee and sang Christmas carols. Then it was back to the church for hot chocolate, cookies, and crafts. Everyone went home with a goodie bag. Hope to see you at our next event!
