Join men of all ages (sons and grandsons also welcome!) for a homemade meal, beverage and dessert, and hanging out with "the guys" (your choice to talk about the weather, happenings around town or the world, hardware and cars/trucks, or issues of faith and life).
There is a brief program by a guest speaker--recent examples include Waterloo and Black Hawk County law enforcement (showing off the latest Taser, or a drug-sniffing dog), local news broadcast personalities, the men from Gearheads (a ministry with volunteers who rehab cars & trucks to give to those in need), the local Jewish rabbi, and more.
Then these men decide how to be in mission-by-acts in and around our own church. They make money by sponsoring the annual Fish Fry and other donations and efforts, they plan for cleaning up around the church, keep the (very large!) lawn mowed, and show support for youth by helping send them to camp and other $$$ sponsorships. And they pitch in and help with anything else going on around the church, what ever committee or group may officially be heading it up!
Supper begins at 6pm--$6 includes $5 to support the St. Paul's Women's Circle cooking & serving the meal that night plus a dollar for the Men's Club itself. Invite a friend any time, whether or not they are involved in our church otherwise. The whole thing usually is over between 7:15 and 7:30.
